Athens Eye Bank
The first Eye Bank in Greece of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, opens new horizons for ophthalmology and the health of our citizens. It is located at the General Hospital of Athens ‘Georgios Gennimatas,’ with Professor Georgios Kymionis serving as the scientific director.
Charitable Project
This charitable project was established based on the needs of transplant activities and the extensive clinical experience of Professor of Ophthalmology Georgios Kymionis. The operation and equipment of the ‘Athens Eye Bank’ are entirely funded through financial donations, with the main sponsor being EKPA (Charitable Foundation for Social and Cultural Work), the management of which is overseen by the Special Account for Research Funds of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NTUA).”
